WASHINGTON (AP) A construction worker died Saturday at a construction site near a military base in Utah after an explosion, the Army said.
A spokesman said the cause of the explosion was not immediately known.
The Associated Press is not naming the worker because he was not identified.
An AP reporter at the site said he was struck by the blast.
A nearby construction worker who had worked for the Army for three years said Saturday he was on the site at the time.
“It was scary, you know, just the sound of it,” the construction worker said.
“I saw a lot of smoke coming out.
It was really loud.
You can hear people running.”
