A court has approved the construction of a high-rise apartment building for migrants in the southern Italian city of Padua.

The court approved the plan on Wednesday for the building to rise at a cost of 5.4 billion euros ($6.6 billion), according to local media.

The plan would create at least 30,000 jobs and the construction will begin in 2019.

Construction on the new apartments will begin later this year.
